Immigranted partners with The Kids in Need Foundation to Bring School Supplies to Spanish Speaking Immigrants

On July 15th, the day after our first fundraising event, Immigranted board members and volunteers will put the funds we received from generous donors to work.

We will be donating 100 backpacks filled to the brim with school supplies to the Mission Education Center in partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation.

Their mission resonates strongly with our core values:

The Kids In Need Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed in the classroom by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need.

The kind people that run the foundation are working with the Mission Education Center - told us that the students are excited for the backpacks and supplies.

Many of them have recently come from Latin American countries like Ecuador, Nicaragua and Mexico and this is their first time in the traditional educational setting. Many of them have come to America with very little or nothing at all.

When we heard their stories it's hard not to get a little emotional. Most of us can remember the feeling of shopping for school supplies, buying our backpacks and getting ready for the new school year. It was a time where school was new, exciting and fun. It's hard to imagine not every child having this opportunity.

Through the generosity of your donations we are able to make this feeling a reality for these kids.

We are still looking for volunteers to help out. If you have time in your schedule, we will be at the Elk Glen Picnic area on Saturday, July 15th @ 1-3pm. Please contact us here.

Come out, meet great people, enjoy the park while giving back to others! Check out this PDF which has more detailed instructions.

We hope to see you there, and if you can't make it but believe in our cause - please donate here.

We appreciate all your support!

Sincerely,
Immigranted
